Drug design and delivery structureOne of the most important goals of the biophysical and biomedical research is to discover novel chemical or biological drugs to be used in the treatment, prevention or diagnosis of diseases. At UNC, our research groups develop and apply several state-of-the-art strategies to rationally design new drugs and integrate novel technologies for drug delivery. Our teams have a wide expertise and research interests spanning from computational drug design, to biosynthesis of natural products, to design novel vectors for drug delivery and gene therapy. The work of our researchers is strongly supported by the excellent infrastructures available via the UNC Biochemistry Core Facilities and Resources and the Center for Computational and Systems Biology.
