Principles of fluorescence spectroscopy followed by a survey of methods and applications in fluorescence microscopy, including, for example, single molecule microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy, fluorescence polarization microscopy, fluorescence resonance energy transfer microscopy, fluorescence lifetime microscopy, fluorescence recovery after photobleaching, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and single fluorescence particle tracking.
