Nucleic acid and structure

Nucleic acids play central roles in biology, ranging from storing genetic information, regulating gene expression, to catalyzing chemical reactions. At UNC, our research teams develop and apply state-of-the-art biophysical methods, such as chemical-probing techniques, single molecule techniques, computational techniques, electron microscopy (EM), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, to investigate structure-dynamics-function relationship of diverse nucleic acids that participate in important biological and pathological processes.
